I’m that type of person that is all for healthy living and keeping fit, but to drag myself to the gym, uh, no. I feel that we should find ways to want to work your body and be excited about it and not think to ourselves, arg, gym again.

Pilates is the way to go. I’ve been doing it for about 8 years now and I have never looked back. It has transformed my body and strengthened my muscles, even the ones that I didn’t know I had !

 

Benefits of doing Pilates:

1. Pilates: Whole Body Fitness
Pilates does not over develop some parts of the body and neglect others. While Pilates training focuses on core strength, it trains the body as an integrated whole.

2. Creates Strength without Bulk.
Long, lean muscles are the name of the game here. Pilates doesn’t build muscles for show. Its tones them.

3. Increases Flexibility
Pilates increases in length and stretch of the muscles and range of motion within the joints.

4. Developes Core Strength 
The core muscles of the body are the deep muscles of the back, abdomen and pelvic floor. These are the muscles we rely on to support a strong, supple back, good posture and efficient movement patterns. When the core is strong, the frame of the body is supported. 

5. Increases Energy
The more you exercise, the more energy you get and the more you feel like exercising (to a point of course). Pilates gets the breath and circulation moving, stimulates the spine and muscles and floods the body with good feelings one gets from exercising.

I always look forward to Pilates. Its an hour dedicated to myself which in the end benefits me and my body.
